Looking down
This is my favorite view of the bridge. There's a classic San Francisco bike ride that takes you across the Golden Gate Bridge and up to the top of the Marin Headlands. This is the view from the top. After you catch your breath from the climb, you drop down the back side like a ski jumper. It is a steep, steep drop down a one-way road. The view going down the back is like a glimpse of a secret wonderland: craggy cliffs, rocky coves, and the Pacific Ocean fading into the horizon. I've done it hundreds of times and every time I count my lucky stars that I get to live and ride in this place. Want to come check it out? I'll be happy to take you out for a ride!
