Missing summer

Mendocino

Even though our summery weather just ended a couple of weeks ago, I'm already longing for warmth and sunshine and sunshine that is actually warm. I turned on the heat tonight for the first time since June (which was when the vents were cleaned, not the last time we heated the place). The apartment filled with the aroma of burning dust (and dander, asbestos fibers, bugs, and whatever other crud has settled into the furnace). The sun set at like 5pm. So I'm looking through the summer's photos while I try to get warm.

We didn't do much traveling this summer, just a couple of weekends away. This photo was from a June weekend in Mendocino. It actually wasn't that warm up there, but it was June, and the days were long, and the summer was still full of potential. I can't believe that was five months ago.

I feel your pain. Every second that I'm sitting in this PNW weather is another second that I seriously consider a move to Hawaii.

We'll be coming to your neck of the woods to take advantage of all of your sun. Christmas will see us around there, enjoying 2 hours more sun than we get here in Glasgow.

I must say: yeah, I whine, but ... well ... there's a pot/kettle statement in there somewhere. ;)
