Matt
Matt was the sort of person whom everyone loved and who was friendly and open with everyone. Just a great guy, and if you read through the hundreds of comments on his memorial site you'll get a feel for who we was.
His generous spirit is what I'll never forget. Matt made everyone he knew feel like he was their number-one fan. That is a gift. An ironman finisher himself, he was always interested in chatting about my triathlon training and racing. Hearing and reading comments from his Roaring Mouse teammates, I realized that that was a big part of him. He celebrated everyone's successes, no matter how small, with sincere enthusiasm. He was an awesome friend, motivator and cheerleader with a good cynical streak.
Matt's early departure leaves a hole in many people's hearts as big as the rock he won two weeks ago. Local folks, I hope you'll join us as we celebrate Matt's life tomorrow night.

I didn't know Matt but he sounds like a great guy. Amazing pictures of him winning two weeks ago, so far out in front. I can't stop thinking about what happened.
