Slips of paper I found in books from the SF Public Library:
  • Receipt from Mi Casita Restaurant, San Juan, Puerto Rico. Lunch for one. Tucked inside Cruise Ship Blues: The underside of the cruise industry. Book was so-so. Lunch was chicken.
  • Post-it note with hand-written list: "Lexapro, Prozac, Remeron, Zoloft." Stuck near the back of Anne Lamott's Operating Instructions: A journal of my son's first year. Book was devastating, heartwarming and hilarious.
  • United Airlines ticket stub, LAX-SFO, 10/01/07 at 8:05pm. Passenger: my husband. Book: The Starfish and the Spider: The unstoppable power of leaderless organizations. I found the stub when I skimmed through the pages at our local branch library, after Dave had returned the book unfinished.

I just finished Anne Lamott's Operating Instructions. I read it in a day—couldn't put it down. Have you read any other books by her that you'd recommend?

This list is so funny - i love it! Good luck posting in March... I said I'd do it and then promptly forgot. between facebook and the mouse sites, I'm swamped! but I'll try to post at least once every few days or so...
